InDiNet
Software-Cluster: Joint project InDinet - Innovative services for the Internet of the future
Many companies – especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) – would like to participate in the Internet of Services and be able to position their services in a profitable way. The objective of the Software-Cluster project "Innovative Services for the Internet of the Future" is therefore to develop a platform that will support providers with the development of new business models using tried-and-tested procedures, guidelines and templates, thereby enabling them to position their offers more effectively on the open market. SMEs will be able to integrate tried-and-tested services, which may also be sector-specific and specialized, into their processes and workflows, without needing the economic and technical knowledge that is usually required for integration within the Internet of Services. InDiNet is therefore specifically addressing the challenges related to the technical realization and operation of services associated with the Internet of the future, through the provision of suitable tools and the development of a platform, which companies can use to create, offer and operate services in the Internet of Services. To this end, InDiNet will review business-critical corporate applications, which place significant demands on availability, quality and security, and endeavor to establish a comprehensive quality management system that will not be restricted by platform, application or corporate boundaries. The support of interoperability and the associated examination of strongly integrated and networked systems are additional unique selling points of InDiNet.
Benefits for developers and users
One of the key tasks of InDiNet is to enable users to manage the complexity inherent in a platform for providing services on the Internet. Such a platform will support providers in designing, modeling, implementing and offering/trading services in the Internet of Services. This support is to be offered as a service of the platform, and will generally be dependent on other platform services or services provided via the Internet. Provider support from the platform will therefore include various kinds of value-added services for both service providers and service users.
